Richard Ahiagbah, the Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has expressed worry over the expense of living under President John Dramani Mahama’s administration.
He claims that Ghanaians are under increased strain due to the rising cost of life.
Ahiagbah claimed in a post on his X page that the cost of transportation is increasing, which has an impact on the pricing of goods and services.
“This is Ghana under President Mahama. Of course, the NDC insulting brigade and sycophants live in a different Ghana, and therefore are not aware of the hardship Ghanaians are going through,” he wrote.
He criticized the government in the post for raising fuel costs, claiming that this is making citizens’ financial circumstances worse.
“Fuel prices are going up again, and the cost of living keeps getting worse. Ghanaians are suffering,” he said.
Recalling its criticism of fuel price increases under former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Ahiagbah also accused the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) of acting unfairly.
“Do you remember when fuel prices increased under Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo? President Mahama and the NDC called it ‘poor leadership’, ‘insensitivity’ and ‘economic mismanagement’. Today, under President Mahama, the same crisis is being blamed on ‘global factors. What has changed?” he questioned.
He also mentioned that growing transportation costs are harming common necessities, such as sachet water.
“The cost of transportation is going up, and it is affecting everything, including good old pure water,” he added.
