President and Founder of IMANI Africa, Franklin Cudjoe has taken a jab at the former President’s family over the infamous Agyapa deal brouhaha.
According to him, if Ghana’s civil society organizations had not blocked the Agyapa deal, the former President’s family would have benefited at the expense of ordinary Ghanaians.
He argued that the gains currently being generated for Ghana through GoldBod could have ended up enriching a single family while the wider population continued to suffer.
In a social media post, he wrote:
“I’ve just realized that if AGYAPA had gone through, the multibillion dollars GoldBod is now bringing to Ghana under the current government would have been parked offshore in the Cayman Islands where the former finance minister, his extended family, friends, and even future generations would be laughing at us.”
