Hopeson Adorye of the United Party (UP) has stated that the current power issues (dumsor) are the result of various reasons rather than a single cause.
Hopeson Adorye cited the recent Akosombo fire outbreak, scheduled maintenance, and transformer replacements as important factors.l
“The planned maintenance is a factor,” he said. “The fire outbreak that affected Akosombo is also another factor.”
He clarified that the fire incident had a major effect on supply, pointing out that operations were impacted prior to the start of restoration activities.
“That one took Akosombo off entirely before they worked on it,” he stated on JoyNews’ AM Show.
Hopeson Adorye added that technical systems may also trigger shutdowns when faults are detected to prevent further damage.
“I’ve been told that when the system detects a fault, it can go off automatically until engineers confirm it is safe,” he explained.
