The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Suhum, Hon. Lydia Sarah Ohenewaa, has commended the youth of the municipality for their active participation in the monthly sanitation exercise.
Speaking in a one-on-one interview on Bryt Adekyee Mu Nsem, the MCE expressed her appreciation to residents, especially the youth, for supporting the clean-up campaign aimed at improving environmental sanitation in the municipality.
According to her, the youth of Suhum are always willing to contribute to community development whenever they are invited to take part in activities. She noted that although they may not come on their own, they readily respond whenever they are called upon.
Hon. Lydia Sarah Ohenewaa explained that this month’s sanitation exercise was held on a Friday instead of the usual day due to activities taking place in the market. She said the Assembly deliberately focused on the market because of the poor condition of its gutters and drainage system, which require urgent attention to prevent flooding and improve sanitation.
She further disclosed that next week’s sanitation exercise will involve the entire municipality, with residents from all communities expected to come together to participate in the clean-up exercise.
The MCE urged the people of Suhum to continue supporting the Assembly’s sanitation initiatives to ensure a cleaner and healthier environment for everyone.
