Residents of Koforidua in the Eastern Region have commended the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Hon Ransford Owusu Boakye for the ongoing decongestion exercise aimed at improving sanitation, easing traffic congestion and restoring order in the municipality.
The exercise, which forms part of efforts to address challenges associated with street trading and unauthorised structures, has received positive reactions from some residents who believe it will help improve the general outlook of the township.
Some residents have praised the MCE for taking steps to address the persistent congestion, particularly around busy commercial areas and major roads in Koforidua.
They believe the exercise will improve pedestrian movement, reduce traffic obstruction and create a more organised business environment.
The residents have, however, called on the Municipal Assembly to ensure that the exercise is sustained through regular monitoring and enforcement of sanitation and trading regulations.
They have also urged traders and other residents to cooperate with the Assembly to ensure the success of the initiative.
The residents say maintaining a clean, orderly and congestion-free Koforidua requires collective responsibility from both authorities and the public.
