Member of Parliament (MP) for Ofoase Ayirebi Constituency and Minister for Information, Hon Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has revealed that His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo is ready to cut a sod for new Eastern Regional hospital on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 in Koforidua.
According to Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, the President in his eighth COVID-19 address to the nation he announced the construction of hospitals in some 88 districts across the country and the time is now.
The President has resumed work today after being in isolation for 14 days.
Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah in an interview on Monday said the President will break grounds for the commencement of the new Eastern Regional Hospital to be located in Koforidua.
He also added that money will be handed over to the contractor to start the ultra-modern hospital which is part of the list of hospitals to be constructed under Nana Addo administration.
Ghana is lacking infectious disease control centers across the country and we do not have enough testing and isolation centers for diseases like COVD-19.
“The Government has decided to undertake a major investment in our healthcare infrastructure because there are 88 in our country without district hospitals; we have six (6) new regions without regional hospitals,’’ Kojo Oppong Nkrumah revealed.
Kojo Oppong Nkrumah said the government will begin the construction of 88 hospitals in various districts.
