Former Ashantigold midfielder, Latif Anabila is close to joining Asante Kotoko ahead of the 2020/2021 season, according to one of his representatives, Alex Ackumey.
Earlier report in the local media suggested that the enterprising midfielder has agreed to personal terms over a move to the porcupine warriors towards the new season.
Anabila has been a long-term target for coach Maxwell Konadu with hopes of signing him this transfer window.
It is believed that, Asante Kotoko will be augmenting their squad as they prepare for the 2020/2021 CAF Champions League season.
Anabila is rated as one of the best midfielders in the Ghana Premier League following his exploits with New Edubiase and Ashanti Gold SC.
According to Alex Ackumey, a deal would be announced in the coming days.
Speaking to Silver FM, he said, “In the coming days Anabila will join Kotoko because he has agreed to play for them. We’ve talked to so some point and I’m sure the deal will be sealed soon”
“There were offers abroad but we thought about Ghana because ones Kotoko is going to Africa we felt they will need good players like Latif to beef up their charges” he said.
Anabila made 14 appearances for Ashanti Gold SC in the 2019/2020 league season that was annulled due to coronavirus pandemic.
