Incumbent Member of Parliament on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bryan Acheampong has spoken after retaining his seat at the Abetifi constituency in the Eastern Region.
Speaking to the media after his win, Mr. Acheampong gave thanks to God and to people who voted for him to retain him as an MP.
“Firstly, I would like to thank God and the people who voted for me for this victory. Comparing my current number of votes to that of last 4 years (2016), even though the percentage was 72% meaning 2,000 or more people affirmed their votes for me recognizing the job I have done so far”.
“This also means I have to do more for the people as they always expect more from me as their Member of Parliament. The people believe in me that’s why they have given me this mandate, which I promise to uphold and deliver as expected”, he stated.
Bryan Acheampong couldn’t hide his excitement as he believes the people of Ghana have exhibited a serious form of maturity in this year’s election which makes me proud as a Ghanaian.
