Governance Expert, Amon Kottey has advised Politicians to concentrate on building the country together and not bother which party is in the majority or minority.
Ghanaians have a big question on their minds as election declaration is fast approaching, per the provisional results some people are of the view that the NDC has won major parliamentary seats which might push the NPP into minority even if His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo wins.
Speaking to Abena Pokuaa Ahwenee on Bryt FM, 99.1, Amon Kottey asked Ghanaians to debunk rumors of sabotage. This is because it is said that if NPP goes into minority it will be hard for the President to work with the majority because they might deter him from giving out his best.
“there will be no sabotage in the parliament if Nana Addo wins and NPP goes into minority, because the minority can speak up when there they need to especially if they suspect anything and they can share their views and opinions on every policy they implement”, he said.
According to him, the elected president’s party should not necessarily be the majority, the two groups can come together and work for a better country.
He added that, the situation looks impossible because the two political parties are their own greatest enemies and would not consent to supporting each other because they don’t trust each other.
He however encouraged politicians and Ghanaians to prepare themselves for issues like this and should act responsibly to help the nation.
