A suspected thief has been severely beaten by a mob at Akyem Tafo in Abuakwa North Municipality of the Eastern region.
The incident happened on Thursday, December 10, 2020, at about 8:00 am.
The unidentified thief was caught red-handed on the compound of a locked- gated house along the Akyem Tafo new road area attempting to burgle the rooms.
He reportedly scaled over the walls to enter the house shortly after the caretaker of the house left to work.
But luck eluded him when the caretaker abruptly returned a few minutes later to pick a vital item he left home.
He raised an alarm which led to the arrest of the suspect by the youth.
The youth brutalized the suspect but for the intervention of some Journalists with Nopras FM a community radio station in the area who pleaded for the suspect to be handed over to the Police.
The suspect is in Police custody but has been issued Police medical form for treatment.
