Ghana’s COVID-19 death toll has risen from 1,008 on 22nd August to 1,036 on 27th August 2021 as 55 Patients are in critical condition.
According to the Ghana Health Service, 141 other patients are also in severe condition and Active cases are 7,151.
Greater Accra Region has the highest number of Active cases follow by the Ashanti region with 4,816 and 629 respectively.
Other Regions with higher Active cases are Volta, Eastern, and Bono East which have 379, 282, and 266 respectively.
Ghana has confirmed 119,436 Positive cases of COVID-19 out of 1,615,169 tests conducted and fortunately, a total of 111,249 Patients recovered and discharged.
About 249,600 doses of COVID-19 AstraZeneca vaccine received under the COVAX facility will be administered from 30th August to 3rd September 2021.
The Director-General of the Ghana Health Service (GHS), Dr. Patrick Kuma-Aboagye has reiterated his advice to persons eligible to take the second jab of the AstraZeneca COVID- 19 vaccine not to rush to vaccination centers.
He urged them to be patient and avoid overcrowding as the government is doing all it can to get everyone vaccinated.
