Former President John Dramani Mahama has said that even though he disputed the 2020 election results announced by the Chair of the Electoral Commission in last year’s election, he respects President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as a President of Ghana.
According to the former President, even though they disagreed with the election process and the Supreme Court ruling they recognized Akufo-Addo as a President.
Speaking at a meeting with Chiefs in the Eastern region as part of his thank-you tour on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, Mr Mahama said: “We all respect him as our president”.
“The reality of the matter is that he is our president,” Mr Mahama stressed.
