Ghana captain Andre Ayew was spotted hitting hard on his teammates after a disappointing display against Ethiopia last Thursday.
The four-time African champions had to wait until the final group game against South Africa to determine their World Cup qualification chances.
The Bafana Bafana were on top of Group G with 13 points prior to the final game at the Cape Coast stadium.
Ghana who were on 10 points needed to beat South Africa at all costs and progress to the next stage of the qualifiers.
After Ghana’s 1-1 draw against Ethiopia, Andre Ayew was spotted hitting hard on his teammates and then urging them on to beat South Africa and qualify.
Ayew’s powerful message paid off as the Black Stars inflicted a 1-0 win over South Africa to top the group.
The Al Sadd star scored from the spot in the 33rd minute in his 100th cap to help Ghana secure a playoffs spot at the expense of South Africa.
Ghana and South Africa were tied on 13 points after 6 matches but the Black Stars advanced on goals scored.
“We are not here to joke and the person who is not ready and don’t believe that we are going to win 2-0, when he gets to Ghana he should go home. Clearly, because this is the time that we are going to go to the World Cup”
“If somebody joke, if you know you don’t have the heart when we get to Ghana you are going to listen to what Ghanaians will say, take your things and go home”
“We are going to win and we will qualify, okay. So, relax, calm down and let’s go” he said.
Ghana has secured qualification to the playoffs after defeating South Africa.
