The National Sports Authority has notified the Ghana Football Association about plans to close down the Accra and Tamale stadia for maintenance.
The affected stadia serve as the home venue for at least four clubs including Hearts of Oak, Olympics, Legon Cities and RTU.
The planned repair works, according to the NSA will take place between December 13to 26 and therefore asked the FA to reschedule matches slated within the chosen dates.
“The National Sports Authority would like to inform the Ghana Football Association to postpone or reschedule the league matches slated from Monday, 13th December to Sunday, 26th December 2021 ostensibly for the planned maintenance works at the stadium”
“The Authority deeply regrets the inconveniences this request will bring to the clubs” a statement from the NSA reads.
It will be recalled that the NSA and the Sports Ministry closed down the Baba Yara Stadium for almost two years for repair works, forcing Asante Kotoko to play last season’s Ghana League away from home.
The current season is only 6 weeks old with Asante Kotoko top of the league table.
