The significance of this eleventh anniversary as Akwamumanhene is therefore not lost on me.
I have spent the early morning reflecting on the story of King David.
Here was a man who demonstrated an impressive level of integrity in the face of extreme provocation, choosing to allow God to intervene and pave the way to the throne of Israel while focusing on his development towards Kingship.
As King Saul hunted him at every turn to eliminate him, he restrained his men from retaliating and even when presented with a failsafe opportunity to take the life of his relentless tormentor, refused to do so.
The result was that the people saw the quality of his character and offered him their respect, trust, and unwavering loyalty.
In this seventh year, I am determined to emulate David’s fine example and reaffirm my commitment to creating a community where unity will override conflict and our leadership will become a positive benchmark for future generations.
I hope like David, you will recognize in me a genuine leader with a desire to create an Akwamu of opportunities and in turn, offer me your continued support and encouragement to realize that objective. “The Akwamu Arising Agenda” is a difficult task therefore a United Akwamuman is supremely important.
