Bechem United coach Kasim Ocansey Mingles says Augustine Okrah deserves his Black Stars call up.
Okrah, who has been on top form this season for the Hunters earned a place in the latest Black Stars squad for the upcoming 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifiers and Kirin Cup in Japan.
The Black Stars will play Madagascar and Central African Republic in qualifiers next month before travelling to Japan for the four-nation tournament.
In an interview with Kumasi-based Akoma FM, Ocansey Mingle affirmed Okrah deserved the call up considering his performance this season.
“He deserves the call-up, he has really worked hard to earn it. His hard work must be honoured.”
“He is experienced and he’s not a lazy player. His results goals can attest to that”
“He’s a matured player, and definitely knows the competition at Black Stars and with his experience, I think he is ready for it. I will support him in training to compete”
Okrah, a former player of Kotoko has steered the Hunters to the MTN FA Cup final and is also in contention for the Ghana Premier League title.
The enterprising winger has bagged 14 goals for Bechem United in the league.
