The Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Constituency Secretary of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Escoba Donkor, says the former Finance minister in the erstwhile NDC government, Dr Kwabena Duffuor who is striving to be the party’s flag bearer must rescind his decision for former President John Dramani Mahama to lead the party for victory come 2024.
Mr Escoba Donkor was very optimistic that competing with the 2020 flagbearer of the party will be a misuse of time and resources.
He asked proponents of Dr Kwabena Duffuor to advise him to step down in order to ensure a gigantic victory for the come 2024 general elections.
“It will be a waste of time and resources for Dr Kwabena Duffuor to contest John Mahama. I will plead with him to step down for peace to prevail. He should allow John Mahama to go. His time will come,” Escoba Donkor reiterated.
He called upon NDC Executives within the constituency to resist undermining themselves if really the party want to take the seat of the NPP.
“We cannot go to the war front with these behaviours. We have to get a united front to face our opponents. I will plead with all and sundry to ensure there is unity among ourselves in order to win the 2024 general elections.”
Expounding on the party’s membership cards registration exercise, he exhorted all party supporters, including new ones to enrol since it’s a vehicle through which the party can raise funds to bolster its activities.
“The registration exercise is very essential and all members must take it seriously. I will plead with Ghanaians to enrol with the NDC since it’s the only party bearing the welfare of Ghanaians at heart,” he established.
