A total of 83 persons have filed to contest for 12 positions in the National Democratic Congress National delegates Election to be held on December 17, 2022.
The National positions that delegates would be voting to elect leaders to occupy are National Chairman, Vice Chairman, General Secretary, Deputy Secretary, Communication Officer, Deputy Communication Officer, National Women Organizer, National Organizer and deputy.
Others are National Youth Organizer and a deputy, National Zongo caucus coordinator and National Executive Council members.
At the close of nominations, three persons including the current General Secretary Johnson Aseidu Nketiah, former MP for Klotey Korle and former Greater Accra Regional, Nii Armah Ashietey as well as Samuel Yaw Adusei, Former Ashanti Regional Minister have filed to challenge the current national Chairman Samuel Ofosu Ampofo.
For the General Secretary position, FIIFI FIAVI F. KWATEY, DR. PETER BOAMAH OTOKUNOR and ELVIS AFRIYIE ANKRAH are in the race.
Former Parliamentary candidate for Suhum Constituency who was also Municipal Chief Executive, MARGARET ANSEI is contesting incumbent HANNA LOUISA BISIW.
Also, the Incumbent for Youth Organizer, GEORGE OPARE ADDO is being contested by BROGYA GENFI, whiles National Communications Officer, SAMMY GYAMFI is seeking re-election and he is in the race with GODWIN MAWULI AMETOWOGO.
