Disqualified parliamentary aspirants for Akuapim North Municipality Lawyer Philip Addison have described as comical the basis for which he was disqualified by the vetting committee.
Lawyer Addison was disqualified by the regional vetting committee on the recommendation that he failed to nurture the New Patriotic Party at the constituency level.
But the “pink sheet” man in a press release said the statement is not only false but goes to confirm the earlier allegations of the plot to disqualify him even before the vetting day was due.
Below is the full statement:
RE: NPP AKUAPEM NORTH SEAT; LAWYER ADDISON NOT DISQUALIFIED
In a democratic dispensation, power belongs to the people and for the people hence the need for them to decide who wields the power.
It’s rather comical, considering the reasons given for the recommendations made by the Regional Vetting Committee about the competent Lawyer Phillip Addison.
Per the articles circulating on social media, the grounds in which they made those recommendations were his failure to nurture the Constituency.
That statement is not only false but goes to confirm the earlier allegations of the plot to disqualify Lawyer Addison even before the vetting day was due.
I can categorically say on record that the ever selfless Pink Sheet Man has nurtured the Constituency right from the grassroots level be it the polling station and electoral areas right to the Constituency level with empirical evidence available to corroborate this claim.
Until the Indefatigable Lawyer Addison made his intentions known for contesting the Akuapem North seat, the Delegates who are the main owners of the party were downtrodden and in despair all because they had no one to go to or someone to even listen to them. Their restored hope and confidence wasn’t because of anything but by the timely intervention of Lawyer Addison to contest in Akuapem North. He has on countless occasions supported the party at all levels in the Constituency and its public knowledge hence it’s mind-boggling for one to fathom why such claims will be used as grounds to disqualify the only competent person capable enough of transforming Akuapem North.
Furthermore, the claims about him starting a campaign before nomination forms were picked are unfounded and inadmissible.
Under no circumstance is it illegal for an aspirant who has made known their intention of contesting an election to create awareness or make them available to the Delegates. It is very important as a candidate to familiarize yourself with the dynamics of the Constituency and its Delegates by moving to them and also further knowing their grievances to aid in your campaign strategy.
If creating awareness is what they call campaigning then they are oblivious and uninformed.
But after all, is said and done, LAWYER PHILLIP ADDISON is the hope of Akuapem North and the man needed to bring about transformation and development.
As Delegates of Akuapem North, let’s not despair but be more assured that this unfortunate impediment has rather strengthened the resolve of the Visionary Addison more than ever to ensure the Wind of Change blows over Akuapem North bringing about Jobs for the youth, infrastructural transformation, youth empowerment, restored hope and safer environment.
