Member of Parliament for the Awutu Senya West Constituency, Hon Gizella Agbotui Tetteh has supported students who are pursuing their education at tertiary level to enable them pay their fees.
Students numbering over 50 received Ghc1,000 each to help settle part of their fees.
According to the MP, it is her responsibility to support students within her Constituency to further their education to the highest level to allow them back and serve constituents with the knowledge and skills they have acquired both at the Technical and Vocational Training(TVET) level to help drive away the high poverty level in the Constituency.
Speaking to Bryt Fm News Correspondent Eric Owusu Amponsah she revealed this is the third time she is taking this initiative since assuming office as Mp and she is poised of doing more to assist parents/guardians in this difficult financial times when all tertiary institutions have increased fees for the academic year.
District Director of Education at the Awutu Senya West District Education Directorate, Isaac Godwin Kwesi Aquaah Arhin who supervised the distribution of checks to the beneficiary students expressed gratitude to the Mp for the support especially in this difficult financial times when parents are struggling to pay school fees.
Meanwhile, Some students who received the gesture also thanked the MP for coming their aid to support them and pledged to take their lessons seriously.
