Philip, a witness who was one of the first family members to rush to house where a driver allegedly killed wife at Koforidua- Oyoko in the Eastern region says the heinous crime occured in the presence of two children of the couple.
He, however, presumed the children were sleeping.
Philip narrates that, “I was on my way to work when I was informed about the incident so I rushed to the house and saw my sister lying dead in a pool of blood in supine position with one hand at her back, with two fingers cut off, with deep cutlass wound on her neck and lower side of the head. They had two young children, one was sitting beside the mother’s body whilst one was seated in a chair apparently naive about what has happened”.

Uncle of the deceased, Wofa Kwasi, who was also at the police station last night alleged that, the recent misunderstanding between the couple arose after the suspect accused the now deceased wife of infidelity.
“Gifty narrated to me that the husband had threatened to kill her many times which when she decided to walk away, people intervened to plead. So upon hearing that I decided to separate them for a year for the issues to be resolved. Abeiku was not happy with my proposal and accused me of collapsing his marriage but I told him threat of death is a crime which even had to be reported to the police. So the woman went to her mother’s place to celebrate the Christmas and returned last Thursday. On Friday morning while on my way to work, I was told on phone that Abeiku has killed the wife”.
Effiduase Police continued interrogation of the suspect Monday and took statements from witnesses and family members.
Both family members are waiting for the suspect to be arraigned before court for justice to prevail.
