A contractor, businessman and entrepreneur, Eric Yeboah Wadie, from the popular Wadie family has declared his intention to contest the New Juaben South constituency seat in the ticket of the opposition National Democratic Congress, NDC.
Mr. Wadie owes multiple companies in Ghana.
He is a member of the rich Wadie family in Kwahu and New Juaben.
The affable young man has already met some bigwigs in the NDC to declare his intentions to them.
He is promising to leverage on his entrepreneural skills and business knowledge and connections to creat jobs for the youth in New Juaben South Constituency.
He has, also, assured of inclusiveness and opportunities for with special focus on the poor and vulnerable.
Eric Yeboah Wadie will be engaging delegates of the NDC in New Juaben South as well as executives in the coming days to spell out his vision for the party and constituency at large.
An ICT Lecturer at Koforidua Technical University, Martin Offei Otu, contested the Parliamentary election on the ticket of the NDC in 2020 and polled 20,164 votes representing 29.45% as against the Parliamentary candidate for ruling New Patriotic Party, Michael Okyere Baafi who had 47,862 representing 69.90%.
Martin Offei Otu is likely to contest the parliamentary primaries with Eric Yeboah Wadie when the NDC opens nomination.
The intention by Eric Yeboah Wadie to contest the parliamentary election in New Juaben South has sent shivers down the spine of incumbent Member of Parliament Michael Okyere Baafi of the ruling New Patriotic Party who has lost significant popularity among the electorates over failed promises .
The current economic mess created by the NPP government which he is part as Deputy Trades and Industry minister forecast bleak future for his second term bid.
Okyere Baafi may be contested by a woman who is nursing ambition to be Parliamentary candidate for the NPP in New Juaben South come 2024 election.
