The Ghana Armed Forces is set to establish military base at Akyem Asafo a town along the Accra to Kumasi Highway in the Abuakwa South Municipality in Eastern region.
A delegation from the Ghana Armed forces, led by Commodore Agyenim Boateng, Director General of Logistics,General Headquarters,with some Senior Military officers from different Units at General headquarters, Burma Camp paid a courtesy call on
Kyebihene and Kyebi Executive ,Akyem Asafohene, Akyem Asafohenema whom together inspected large tract of land earmarked for the base .
A new military battalion will be established at the Akyem Asafo military base to strengthen Ghana’s security against terrorism and external aggressions.
