Member of Parliament (MP) for Yendi Constituency, Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama has endorsed presidential staffer, Hajia Fathaia Aziz ahead of the upcoming parliamentary primaries in the Savelugu Constituency.
FAM as he is affectionately called disclosed this in his Facebook post today, March 21, 2023 where he took to wished her on her birthday.
According to the Yendi legislator, Hajia Fathaia will win the yet to be held primaries, and goes on to win the 2024 general elections.
“Happy birthday to my wonderful caring Sister and Incoming MP Fathia Aziz”, the MP wrote.
The Savelugu seat is regarded as NDC’s stronghold until 2016 when the NPP parliamentary candidate, Mohammed Abdul Samed Gunu won it and subsequently lost it to the NDC in 2020 by 99 votes.
Though Hajia Fathaia has not officially declared her intentions to contest the seat, but it is widely rumoured that she will pick forms when nominations officially opened.
Hajia Fathaia is a sister to the Northern Regional women’s organiser, Hajia Rahana Aziz and currently working at the office of the president.
