Daughter of the late former Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Savelugu Municipality, Honorable Alhaji Shiraz, on Wednesday March 22, 2023, filed her nomination forms to contest the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary primaries elections in the Savulegu constituency.
Ahead of the NDC’s parliamentary primaries in May 13, 2023, scores of party supporters have expressed their desires to lead the party in their various constituencies.
One of such aspirants is the daughter of the late and former Municipal Chief Executive of Savelugu Municipality, Honorable Alhaji Shiraz.
Hajia Saajida Shiraz, Specialist in Public Policy, Political Economics, Developmental Politics, was accompanied by some NDC supporters and some branch executives to submit her nomination forms at the constituency office.
Addressing the media after filing her nomination forms which was marked with a massive float by supporters to the Savelugu NDC office Mrs. Saajida, says her decision to contest the NDC parliamentary primaries in the Savelugu Constituency is borne out of her desire to serve the locals in the area.
According to her, she is passionate about creating unity, jobs and networks for her constituents therefore the decision to join the race. “Our intention is to unify the bases of the party, reenergize the youth and then develop the constituency. We have several manifesto pledges that we will articulate to the people in the coming days, ” she explained.
“I am particularly focused on local economic development and social justice, and I am dedicated to advocate for marginalized communities and promote policies that ensure equality and fairness”, she added.
She thus admonished her supporters to ensure a decent campaign during their activities.
Meanwhile, two persons have filed their nomination forms to contest the sitting MP, Hon Abdulai Wunbenkpang.
