A Parliamentary aspirant in the New Juaben South constituency of the opposition National Democratic Congress, NDC, Eric Yeboah Wadie, has donated unregistered home -used Nissan Pickup vehicle to the party for official use .
The vehicle is part of effort by the aspirant to mobilize resources to support the constituency maximize its votes in New Juaben South to win the parliamentary seat.
He said donation is not for vote buying gimmick rather gifted to the party to facilitate administrative abd campaign activities.
New Juaben South Constituency chairman of NDC Salasie Amuzu commended Eric Wadie for the kind gesture.
He said the donation is one of a kind since establishment of the Constituency for a parliamentary aspirant to donate vehicle to the party.
New Juaben South constituency in Eastern Region has remained stronghold of the New Patriotic Party since 1992.
In the 2020 parliamentary election ,Michael Okyere Baafi of the ruling NPP secured 47,862 (69.90%) votes against NDC’s candidate Dr.Martin Otu Offei, Lecturer who polled 20,164 votes representing 29.45%.
Okyere Baafi succeeded Dr.Mark Asibbey Yeboah as NPP Member of Parliament.
Two aspirants -Eric Yeboah Wadie, a businessman and contractor ,and Martin Otu Offei ,a Lecturer are contesting the parliamentary primaries to ultimately unseat the NPP in 2024 parliamentary elections.
