The Director of FIFA for schools project, Fatima Sow Sidibe has paid a courtesy call on the Minister for Youth and Sports, Hon Mustapha Ussif ahead of the launch of the FIFA Football for schools project in Ghana.
In her opening remarks, the Director congratulated Ghana for joining the football for schools initiative and noted that the project is in collaboration with education and will afford students the opportunity to acquire some life skills.
She noted that, this is the beginning of the project in Ghana and believed that the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Education will collaborate to scale it up.
As part of the initiative, more than thirty thousand footballs are expected to be distributed among basic schools to children in Ghana.
The anticipated launch of the Ghana project will witness the presence of the Minister for Youth and Sports, Hon Mustapha Ussif, the Minister for Education, Hon Yaw Adutwum, the President of the Ghana Football Association Mr. Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku and the FIFA Programme Director.
The ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Nii Adjei Kraku II Astro pitch on Saturday, August 12, 2023.
