Ghana’s security agencies have begun preparation towards a total or partial lockdown of the country, an official announcement which is expected to be done by the President, Nana Akufo-Addo later today.
The first batch of cities to be affected cities includes Accra, Tema, Kumasi, and Obuasi as part of measures to stop the weird spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
A circular issued by the operations Directorate of the Ghana Olive Service and sighted by mybrytfmoonline.com said in line with their deployment strategy, the police will lay emphasis by strictly enforcing the mandatory and self-quarantined guidelines in coordination with the Ghana Health Service.
In view of the order, the Ghana Police Service will mount a 24/7 roadblocks, snaps and checkpoints to enforce compliance as well as to conduct a robust day and night patrol to enforce the directive.
Meanwhile, another leaked letter from the Police Administration has called for the retrieval of the first letter purported to order the Police personnel to prepare for the lockdown in the above mentioned towns.
