The Principal Administrative Officer of Apersua Community Day Senior High School in the Yilo Krobo District of the Eastern Region, Mr. Andrews Danso has revealed that he walk from Nkurakan to Apersua for an hour to go to work because he is afraid to take commercial motorbike to school.
According to him, Vehicle does not go to the area Frequently and even the vehicles that goes there use about two to three hours to be full and depart.
On Thursday morning July 14, 2022, a student of the School, Emmissah Bright, a first-year General Arts student was pronounced dead on arrival at the Eastern Regional Hospital after motorbike accident.
According to the rider Eliasu Baakie, the motorbike crashed into a bumpy portion of the Nkurakan to Huhunya road which is under construction right in front of the School and as a result lost control of the steering wheel and crashed.
Fortunately for Mr. Andrews Dans, National Teaching Council awarded him with a Vehicle during Ghana Teacher Prize after winning Most Outstanding Non- Teaching Staff of the year.
For the Non-teaching Staff Category, the winner received a saloon car while cash prizes were presented to both first and second place winners.
Mr. Andrews Danso however called on Government,Non Governmental Organisation and philanthropists as matter of urgency to help the School to get staff Bangalore.
The Apersua Community Day Senior High School began admission in 2022 with about 250 Students and the population is expected to be doubled in 2023.
