The Black Queens of Ghana has been nominated for the CAF Team of the Year ahead of the awards ceremony scheduled for next month.
The team has been recognized following their impressive performance in the year under review under Swiss coach Nora Hauptle.
The senior women’s national team has picked their pieces together after missing the 2022 World Cup tournament. The team are unbeaten under Nora Hauptle.
Having bagged nomination, the Black Queens will have to beat competition from Nigeria, Zambia, South Africa and Morocco, who were at the 2023 Women’s World Cup.
Other teams also in contention for the award are Burkina Faso, Malawi, Burundi and Senegal.
The awards ceremony will be held on Monday, December 11, 2023, in the city of Marrakesh, Morocco.
