On Wednesday, it was all joy as the commissioning of the “Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo Community Library & Technology Hub” in Bantama was done.
The project is in recognition of President Akufo-Addo’s impactful influence on my personal and professional journey, which was birthed during my time as a young student leader at the then University of Science and Technology in Kumasi, some decades ago.
“Having been raised by a single parent; my mother (after the sudden demise of my Dad) who was engaged in petty trading in Bantama, I have witnessed first-hand the transformative power of education in alleviating poverty and suffering for individuals, families, and communities” Bantama MP Francis Asenso Boakye stated.
Deeply appreciative of President Akufo-Addo’s effort; the facility bears his name, symbolizing the impact of knowledge, serving as a focal point for learning, and standing as a testament to his legacy as a generational leader. It also honours his exceptional contributions to education in Ghana, highlighted by the free SHS programme that eases the financial burdens on parents and expands access to education.
The “Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo Community Library & Technology Hub” will allow the youth of Bantama to connect with their peers nationwide and levels the playing-field between them and their counterparts from more advanced communities. The well-equipped library includes modern books, advanced materials, computers, and internet connectivity to keep users abreast of up-to-date information globally.
