The Black Stars of Ghana will miss the services of dependable defender Daniel Amartey when they take Comoros in the 2026 World Cup qualifying game.
Comoros will host the four-time African champions at the Moroni Stadium on Tuesday in their second Group I game of the qualifiers.
Unfortunately, Amartey, who picked up an injury against Madagascar has been ruled out of the game after failing late fitness test.
The Besiktas defender was unable to complete the game against Madagascar, where Ghana cruised to a 1-0 win at the Baba Yara Stadium.
He was replaced by Kasim Nuhu as the Black Stars picked a crucial narrow win over Madagascar.
According to the Black Stars medical team, no obvious injury was detected after the player undergone MRI scans but intends not to risk him.
The Black Stars are already in Comoros ahead of the much-anticipated game on Tuesday afternoon. The team held their first training session in Comoros on Sunday and are expected to round up preparation for Tuesday’s showdown.
