Tension is brewing in the new Juaben South NPP after the disqualification of Yaa Ansaa Safori from the party’s upcoming parliamentary primaries.
Speaking to party delegates and sympathisers who had gone to her residence to give her moral support after her disqualification, they were curious why the party decided to disallow her to contest despite her contribution to the party over the years.
“This is not fair, she is the only candidate and you have disqualified her. Is it a way to give Baafi the opportunity to go unopposed even though some of us are not happy with his output as MP? This s too bad” aggrieved delagate told Kwabena Nyarko Abronoma.
Some also said “you see my brother, we earlier had rumour that there was a plan to allow Okyere Baafi go unopposed but we thought it was one of those things but it seems it has been manifested”.
Meanwhile, information gathered revealed Yaa Ansaa Safori was disqualified after a delegate who had earlier endorsed her nomination form made allegation of not been the one who’s signatory was used.
Sources however indicates she was not giving the opportunity to explain herself on the matter hence the agitaion by some party faithfuls who are not happy with the development.
Yaa Ansaa Safori is yet to officially make a public statement on the matter.
