John Mahama, the leader of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), the motorbike transportation sector (Okada) has grown to be a reputable and unchallenged industry.
He claimed that attempts by any administration to eradicate this industry had become ineffective.
During his Building Ghana tour in the Eastern Region, Mahama stressed that the Okada industry has become ingrained and cannot be destroyed. He made this point at the Agormanya Saint Martin’s Parish Hall.
He also attacked the present administration for failing to solve the country’s economic problems and give young people enough jobs.
Mr. Mahama restated his position on Okada riders, saying that if he were granted another term, he would put in place a comprehensive system that included the riders’ licensing, registration, and regulation. The goal of this plan is to lay out precise rules that will allow Okada business to run without hiccups.
Mahama also emphasized the importance of his new administration’s influence on neighborhood farmers in the Krobo settlements.
He suggested creating a farmer’s cooperative in order to alleviate the difficulties farmers encounter when buying materials for their fields, like seeds and fertilizer.
