The Western North Regional Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress, Sam Jerome has said he was startled after citing President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s name in Vice President Dr Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia’s campaign team as an advisor.
According to him, president Akufo-Addo himself as president is allergic to advice and therefore he is not fit for such portfolio in Veep’s team for 2024 electioneering campaign.
He added that the president does not hearken to advice so selecting him as an advisor is tantamount to unending wickedness so far as the New Patriotic Party is concerned.
Refuting Jerome’s claims, Western North Regional Research and Elections Officer for NPP, Samuel Kofi Abiaw indicated that his party believes in democracy so selection of their campaign team wasn’t done by a sole person, they did a broader consultation before coming out with the names that constitutes the team.
He also noted that, the team is undoubtedly very strong and they will deliver with the blend of both old and youthful experienced people of the party in the likes of former President J.A. Kufuor, Freddy Blay, Dan Botwe, Sammy Awuku, Miracles Aboagye, “our team is perfect”, “for I know with this team, we are going to break the 8”, he said.
