17 constituency youth organisers of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has condemned the actions of the Regional Youth organiser, Nyarko Richard Etornam over the past months.
In a press release signed by all the 17 aggrieved youth organisers on Monday, Marc 11, they also expressed disappointment at the Regional Executive Committee for failing to ensure the safety and security of party members invited to its office. It is unacceptable that party members should fear for their safety when attending official meetings at the regional office.
This came to light after attacks on some youth organisers in the region wit the latest being in connection with Hon. Ahmmed Agbenyadzi, the Youth Organizer for Akropong Constituency at the party’s Regional office.
Hon. Agbenyadzi, upon entering the regional office in honouring an invitation from the Eastern Regional Executive Committee, was ambushed and brutally attacked by thugs led by Aremiyawu Iddrisu and Awudu Mohamed Sagiru aka Vasco. Shockingly, Aremiyawu Idrisu openly declared that this unprovoked assault was in retaliation to Ahmmed’s disagreement with Richard Etornam Nyarko, the Eastern Regional Youth Organizer, indicating a troubling trend of violence associated with Mr. Nyarko Richard Etornam.

EASTERN REGION CONSTITUENCY YOUTH ORGANISERS CONDEMN VIOLENCE AGAINST AKROPONG CONSTITUENCY YOUTH ORGANISER.
Date: 11 March, 2024
For Immediate Release:
We, the undersigned Constituency Youth Organizers of the Eastern Region, issue this release to vehemently condemn the Monday, 5th March 2024 act of violence perpetrated against our colleague Hon. Ahmmed Agbenyadzi, the Youth Organizer for Akropong Constituency.
This despicable act of violence is not an isolated incident. We recall a similar attack on the New Juaben South Youth Organiser comrade Akorli Mensah Dennis during the NDC presidential and parliamentary primaries last year, suggesting a pattern of behaviour that is deeply concerning. As Regional Youth Organizer, Mr. Nyarko should prioritize the welfare and safety of party members, rather than resorting to intimidation and violence.
Furthermore, we express our disappointment with the Eastern Regional Executive Committee for failing to ensure the safety and security of party members invited to its office. It is unacceptable that party members should fear for their safety when attending official meetings at the regional office.
We call upon national officers and senior party officials to remind Mr. Nyarko of his duty to uphold the values of the party and to cease his involvement in violent acts and anti party behavior against fellow party members. Additionally, we urge the Eastern Regional Executive Committee to take immediate action to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future to protect the name of the party in the region.
In conclusion, we stand in solidarity with Hon. Ahmmed Agbenyadzi and all party members who have been victims of violence. We demand justice and accountability for those responsible for these reprehensible acts.
