Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has stated that if elected in the 2024 elections, he will not require a honeymoon phase, in contrast to the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama.
Speaking on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at Kwahu during his “It is Possible Mega Easter Walk and Mini Rally,” Dr. Bawumia gave Ghanaians his word that, should he be elected president, he will not stop working for his country.
He stressed that, in contrast to John Mahama, who is unable to run for office again, he intends to do so in 2028.
Speaking to the crowd, Dr. Bawumia called for active campaigning and emphasized the need of grassroots involvement in order to successfully convey the NPP’s accomplishments.
“Unlike the Mahama, he wants a honeymoon after being elected, he won’t come back again so he won’t mind you. As for me, I’ll come back in 2028 so I will ensure I do my best for you all.
“So everyone must campaign very well as stated earlier. Today, we are going door to door, house to house to campaign to bring victory. It is possible, we are going to break the eight.”
