Former National Democratic Congress (NDC) chairman, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo has slammed Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s delay in appointing his running mate for the upcoming general elections.
Mr. Ampofo claims that if Bawumia is elected president, he will be ruled and lacks independence.
He maintained that Bawumia’s incapacity to govern is demonstrated by his tardiness in announcing his running mate.
“Dr. Bawumia has no principle and has no balls. As we speak today, he can’t even name his running mate,” he said.
On June 24, 2024, he made the claim in an interview with Onua TV that Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, was supposed to announce his running mate in December following his election. He did, however, ask for an extra month to make up his mind, and since he is still undecided, he believes he is unsuitable to lead.
“We cannot entrust this country into the hands of somebody who cannot even name his running mate. It is late; he is late in the day. Even if he names the person tomorrow, he is late in the day.
“He has shown to all Ghanaians that he is not in charge, if we vote and make Bawumia the President, some people will control him; he will not control himself. He is not a man of his own,” he added.
