Osman Ayariga, Deputy National Youth Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has announced that the next three months will see increased political activism aimed at challenging the current government.
Addressing thousands of NDC supporters in New Juaben South, Ayariga expressed worry the youth in the country have been too passive and urged them to become more proactive in demanding change.
“We have remained too calm,” Ayariga stated. “It is time for us to fight because victory will not come easily. We are the green army of this country, the revolution soldiers, and in the next three months, we shall make this country ungovernable for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).”
Ayariga accused the NPP of corruption and mismanagement, pledging that the NDC’s youth would hold them accountable for alleged financial misconduct and inflated contracts. “We shall demonstrate, we shall be on the streets, we shall campaign. All the monies they have stolen, they will cough it out. All the corrupt deals they have done, they will cough it out,” he declared.
The event, part of a campaign titled “24-hour Economy Walk,” also featured remarks from George Opare Addo, NDC National who assured that the NDC will protect ballot of every single voter.
“We will protect every ballot so don’t be afraid. After casting you votes and President Mahama wins, whoever thinks he is a man enough should dare disrupt the process. We will do everything possible to protect the ballot all that you need is to vote for us” Opare Addo said.
