Following clashes between Asanko Gold Mine and residents of Tontokrom in the Amansie South District on the latter’s request for a Community Mining Scheme recently, Hon George Mireku-Duker visited Asanko Gold Mine and the Tontokrom Community on Wednesday, August 21, 2024.
The deputy Lands and Natural Resources Minister assured the Company that, government will keep providing an enabling environment for the thriving of their operations.
At Tontokrom, where the entire community massed up for a community engagement, he assured them of government’s commitment to deepen engagements with Asanko Gold Mine, towards a possible win-win agreement which will satisfy both parties’ needs in the shortest possible period.
He was accompanied by the Manso Adubia MP, Hon. Yaw Frimpong, Amansie South DCE, Hon. Clement Opoku Gyamfi, Advisor on Mines, Mr. Benjamin Aryee and other officials.
