Hon. Bismark Tetteh Nyarko, the Member of Parliament for the Upper Manya Krobo Constituency in Eastern Region has confidently declared that the NDC will retain the parliamentary seat and it will never return to the NPP
Addressing supporters of the NDC after filing his nomination form in Asesewa on Monday September 9, 2024 the MP attributed the NDC’s 2016 loss to mistakes that have since been corrected, ensuring the party regained the seat in 2020.
He urged NDC members to remain focused on their campaign and the recently launched “People’s Manifesto.”
Hon. Bismark Tetteh Nyarko assured his constituents the NDC will increase votes for both the parliamentary seat and the presidency.
He promised the constituency of unprecedented development when John Mahama assumes power.
The lawmaker criticized violent actions by members of the ruling New Patriotic Party in the constituency.
He called for peace but emphasized that the NDC would not tolerate any form of intimidation or aggression.
“So the warning to the NPP is because they know they will not win the seat again they have resorted to fighting, stoning and beating people in Upper Manya that we are not going to tolerate again , we are not timid though we are not ready to fight but anybody who will come and challenge us or step on our toes that one we can assure you that we are not going to tolerate any nonsense in Upper Manya again”
Meanwhile, Godson Amartey, a former NPP communications team member, announced his defection to the NDC, citing Hon. Bismark Tetteh Nyarko’s leadership and the NDC’s ability to govern the country better than the current administration.
He mentioned that around 900 NPP members in the constituency feel similarly but are reluctant to publicly declare their defection.
