Confusion has rocked between supporters of the NPP and NDC during the commissioning of the DRIP machines in Gomoa Apam in the Gomoa West District of the Central Region.
According to report, a group of persons wearing T-Shirt of the Gomoa West Member of Parliament, Hon. Richard Gyan Mensah, storm the ground with sharp cutlasses and other offensive weapons and started firing gunshots into the air whilst others placed NDC posters on the DRIP machines when the program was ongoing.
Chiefs and other traditional leaders present at the occasion started running away to save their lives.
The report revealed an NPP member ear was chopped off with police officers present also beaten during the misunderstanding.
Speaking to the media, the District Chief Executive who is also the NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Gomoa West Hon. Bismarck Baisie Nkum appealed to the police to arrest the perpetrators of the chaotic incident.
The DCE was very disappointed in police personnel manning the event for their failure to protect the people who had gathered to support the event.
Meanwhile, the injured were admitted at the hospital for treatment and later discharged with no arrest do far made.
