Ghana legend Mohammed Polo has counseled Ghanaian youngsters Abdul Aziz Issah and David not get ahead of themselves after securing a dream move to Barcelona.
The enterprising duo completed a move to the Spanish giants before the closure of the summer transfer window and will feature for the team B, Barça Athletic.
Issah joins Barcelona on a one-season deal with an option to buy from Dreams FC whiles fellow Ghanaian David Oduro joins on a permanent deal from Accra Lions.
Issah’s move to the five-time Champions League winners comes after an impressive season with Dreams FC, particularly in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Oduro, who became the first player to be signed directly from Ghana to the Spanish club penned a three-year deal. The 18-year-old’s impressive performance with the Ghana Premier League outfit earned him a significant move to Barcelona.
Speaking to Koforidua-based Bryt FM, the former Hearts of Oak star urged the duo to double their effort after sealing a remarkable move to Barcelona and not to be swollen headed.
“They shouldn’t be swollen headed. They have to prove to the entire world that Ghana is a nation of talent. We want to see them at the highest level and we wish them all the best”
“It’s a pleasure to see these young players at Barcelona and to rub shoulders with the Lamine Yamal’s, Lewandowski’s and others. Their move to Barcelona will serve as a huge motivation for the youth of today. There is the possibility they can go higher but they need to go work hard to get there” he added.
Issah and Oduro has already trained with the Barcelona senior team and will be looking for more opportunities at the club.
