Former Ghana international Prince Tagoe has taken swipe at Ghanaians following the Black Stars recent struggles.
Ghana, who are four-time winners of the AFCON title has secured only two points from their first three games in Group F.
The Black Stars’ chances of securing qualification to the AFCON tournament in Morocco hit another rock after playing out a 0-0 draw against Sudan at the Accra Sports Stadium last week.
Speaking in an interview with Bryt FM’s Kwamina Sam Biney on Adekye Mu Nsem, the former Hearts of Oak goal monger partly blamed Ghanaians for the Black Stars struggles, saying they have over-pampered the players.
“The performance of the players is below par. I will blame Ghanaians for Black Stars recent struggles because the players are over-pampered and that has contributed to the team’s poor performance. We need to let the players know the importance of playing for the national team. If they will deliver at least 80-85% of their performances exhibited at club level, I don’t think we can lose easily”
The Black Stars has already arrived in Tripoli, Libya for the crunch 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sudan.
Otto Addo and his charges must secure a positive results in the crucial return fixture to remain in contention for qualification.
