Dr. Brenya Wiafe Akenten, a senior lecturer at the University of Ghana has seconded calls for the re-election of the current Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin to continue his work for the 9th parliament.
He based his argument on his experience over the years as a member of parliament and Speaker for the 8th parliament.
Speaking to Kwamina Sam Biney on Bryt fm’s Election Bridge coverage Monday evening, Dr. Wiafe Akenten indicated that Mr Bagbin has done a lot to enhance the standing orders of the house, welfare of MPs and many others that have improved activities of the House.
Commenting on the initial appointments by Mr Mahama to the Office of the President, the senior lecturer emphasized the President-elect is not new to the presidency, and therefore not surprised by the appointments made so far.
He was satisfied with the initial appointments by defending them of being experienced on the job for the past years and expect them to deliver as such.
