The residents of Bawku have received assurances from Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama that he will put their peace first and make sure they are not challenged for the presidency.
When he visited the Bawku Naaba Zug-Raan Naba Azoka II’s palace, he made this clear.
According to him, Ghana needs peace because he will make sure that its citizens feel secure enough to carry out their responsibilities.
“I will appeal to you to exercise patience and restraint and to let you know that I am apprised of the issues and I’m going to deal with it. I can assure you, have trust in this administration that by the grace of God permanent peace is going to come back to Bawku,” he said.
We cannot live in a country where our people don’t feel safe. Our people must feel safe to travel wherever they want at whatever time and not have people shooting at them. And so you can be sure that we will deal with all these situations so that we all can have the peace that we need in order that our traditional areas may progress,” he added.
