Asante Kotoko head coach, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, has called on the club’s supporters to increase their presence at match venues, expressing concern over low fan turnout despite the team’s exceptional form in the Ghana Premier League.
Kotoko currently leads the league standings with 34 points, boasting 10 wins, 4 losses,4 draws, 21 goals scored and 12 conceded in the ongoing Campaign.
The Porcupine Warriors are on an impressive seven-game winning streak, yet stadium attendance remains noticeably very low—an issue that has left Dr. Ogum both puzzled and disheartened.
“It’s not pleasant; it doesn’t make us feel happy,” Dr. Ogum remarked. “We are playing good football and delivering results to satisfy the fans, but the fans are not coming out in their numbers to support the team.”
With a massive fan base of over 10 million, Dr. Ogum is urging supporters to rally behind the team and show up in numbers on matchdays.
“Kotoko is a big club, and I can’t understand why attendance is low,” he added. “I’m appealing to our fans to come out in their numbers and support us. Their presence means a lot to the players and the team as a whole.”
Their next match is away against Nsoatreman the reigning FA cup winners , and Dr. Ogum is hopeful the fans will turn up in full force to cheer the team to victory.
