Winneba – The Effutu Municipal Health Directorate has received 100 pieces of mattresses from the Member of Parliament, Hon. Alexander Kwamena Afenyo Markin to support the fight against the cholera pandemic in the municipality.
The Effutu Health Directorate has so far recorded over 500 suspected cases with three confirmed deaths, a situation seemed as very worrying.

The MP who is also the Minority Leader in Parliament had already presented to the Health Directorate an amount of GH¢100,000, pick ups, and other needs to help contain the spread of the outbreak.
However, on Thursday, through the constituency party executives, Hon Afenyo Markin also handed over 100 mattresses to help treat affected persons in the various hospitals.
Bryt Fm News correspondent Eric Owusu Amponsah speaking to the Former Municipal Chief Executive for Effutu, Hon. Alhaji Zubairu Kassim who presented the mattresses on behalf of the MP commended Hon Alexander Kwamina Afenyo Markin for his continuous selfless support towards the fight against the cholera menace since it’s outbreak.

He revealed that the constituency has never had an MP who support his people like Hon. Alexander Kwamena Afenyo Markin and therefore, pledged the party will continue to support him to do more for the constituents.
The Acting Medical Superintendent of the Effutu Municipal Government Hospital Dr. Douglas Amponsah urged all and sundry to observe a good personal hygiene to ensure the disease is contained and eliminated out of the country.
He assure that health workers are dedicated to their work and that they will continue to deliver on their core mandate to provide quality healthcare to the people.

Meanwhile, the Effutu NPP Constituency Chairman Joseph Nicholas Bondzie (Supi Kofi Kwayera) also entreated residents of Effutu to keep their homes and the streets clean since poor hygiene contribute to the spread of the pandemic.
