One person has died, and several others have sustained critical injuries after a private vehicle veered off the road and crashed into a tree while trying to avoid a collision with cattle along Zuarungu road in Bolgatanga.
The vehicle, traveling from Bolgatanga to Garu, reportedly swerved to avoid hitting a cow that had strayed onto the road.
In the process, the driver accidentally knocked down a motorcyclist before crashing into a tree.
The motorcyclist died on the spot, while the driver and other occupants of the vehicle suffered severe injuries. The driver sustained a broken arm.
The injured victims have been rushed to the Upper East Regional Hospital in Bolgatanga, where they are currently receiving medical treatment.
