Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) running mate for president in 2024, has reaffirmed that fostering unity within the party is a top priority.
Opoku Prempeh emphasized the importance of internal unity in order to win the next elections while speaking on the fringes of the NPP’s meeting on Wednesday, April 16.
“My immediate interest now is to get a united party for a flagbearer to be eventually crowned,” he stated, emphasising his focus on building a strong, united front within the party.
Dr. Prempeh also responded to speculation about his future political aspirations, specifically a possible 2028 presidential run. He brushed off such conjecture, stating, “No, I am not running in 2028.”
His comments are interpreted as an attempt to clear the air and reaffirm his current support for the NPP’s 2024 campaign.
